In the squares and in the churches,

you are always present.

In the markets and the cloisters,

you are always present.

In the cities and the deserts,

you are always present.

In the valleys and the mountains,

you are always present.

In the factories and the night clubs,

you are always present.

On the beaches and in the monasteries,

you are always present.

On the snowy mountains and in the oases,

you are always present.

In the streets and in our hearts,

you are always present...

Even though there are no stars,

and I go by uncertain paths,

you are always present...

Although I do not offer you anything,

- neither gold, nor incense, nor myrrh, -

you are always present...

Even if I return home,

searching for peace and security.

you are always present...

I see you next to me,

in the days of success and favours,

and in the dark days of tribulation.

I see you next to me,

sometime in front, and sometimes behind,

and sometimes on my weak uncovered sides.

I see you next to me,

surrounding me and protecting me

and always drawing me towards the horizon.

I see you next to me,

when I am walking in a crowd

and I contemplate your face in those who come and go.

And when I open my eyes,

whether I'm walking or stopped,

it is your face that lights me up and causes me emotion.

In all the places wherever I may be, you are present,

At all times of my existence, you are there;

and your incarnate face, is always loving me more.
